We believe in their mission to get young men of color to and through college as the data is all too clear - the current state of public education in California fails our young men of color with only 5% of African American males, and only 16% of Latinx males in California possessing a college degree (including associate degrees).

During the pandemic our support has helped have 2,197 care packages delivered, 31 families received food vouchers, contributed to $20,500 emergency grants to students, and $18,000 in technology access for 99 students in the North Sacramento, South Sacramento, and Stockton areas. Past sponsorships have also helped IYT provide milestone and meaningful events to their students – celebrating all they’ve overcome at the annual graduation ceremony bringing all IYT students transitioning from middle school to high school, graduating high school, and being the first in their families to graduate from college together for a community celebration. The annual Brotherhood Conference provides community, bonding, mental health talks, emotional well-being conversations, and celebration of cultural backgrounds for students.
NextGen has also participated as a mentor to IYT students in the Capitol Summer Internship program exposing students to the potential of running for office, becoming a public servant, or making a career in advocacy for their communities.
Stay up to date on our continued partnership work!
